Agency check, personal check, Visa or MasterCard.
If I am part of a Title X-funded agency
or clinic, do I get a lower rate for registration
at conferences?
Yes.
Can I register for an event first and
pay my registration fee later?
Yes. Just indicate on your registration form when
we can expect payment. Registrations may be faxed,
with payment submitted later or on site.
Can I attend just one day of a conference?
Or part of a day?
Yes, but payment of the full registration fee is
required. You may also share a registration with
one of your colleagues (in which case training materials
will be shared as well). Continuing education credits
will be pro-rated accordingly.
What is your registration cancellation
policy?
Cancellations must be received in the JSI office
on or before the cancellation deadline stated in
the conference/workshop announcement to receive a
full refund. No refunds will be issued after this
date; however, another person may attend in your
place. You may call JSI at 303-262-4300 to cancel
and leave a message, send an e-mail to denver@jsi.com or
fax your notice of cancellation to JSI at 303-262-4395.
Can I get a set of training materials
if I am unable to attend?
In most cases, yes. Just indicate this by checking
the appropriate box on your registration form, and
you will receive a set of conference materials within
30 days of the conference/workshop along with an
invoice for the cost of the materials plus shipping
costs.
How can I get on the mailing list to
receive information about future events?
Just send us an email message (to denver@jsi.com )
asking to be included on the FPT mailing list; include
your name, credentials, job title, agency name, mailing
address (street and/or PO Box, city, state, Zip+4),
county, telephone number, fax number, e-mail address
(if applicable), Web site address (if applicable),
and whether or not you are part of a Title X-funded
agency.
For what reasons might an event be cancelled?
How would I know?
Events are rarely cancelled, but they have been in
the past for such uncontrollable things as an airline
strike or severe weather. Also an event can be cancelled
due to low registration. In the event of a cancellation,
registrants will be notified as soon as possible
(another important reason to fill out your registration
form completely).
How can I share comments about
my experience at a conference?
Participants are invited to speak directly with JSI
staff on site, and they are also asked to fill
out detailed evaluation forms at the end of each
conference. You may also express your opinions or
concerns to your state's Family Planning Training
Grant Director. Feedback received from training evaluations
is always considered when designing future training events.
What is the relationship of JSI Research & Training
Institute, Inc., to Region VIII Title X-funded clinics?
JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. (JSI),
is a not-for-profit agency with headquarters in Boston,
MA, and a regional office in Denver, CO. The Denver
office is the recipient of a federal grant designating
it to be the Training Center for Title X-funded clinics
in Region VIII of the U.S. Public Health Service,
Department of Health and Human Services, Office of
Public Health and Science. Region VIII covers the
states of Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South
Dakota, Utah and Wyoming. Grant Directors are appointed
in each state to advise JSI in the implementation
of the guidelines of the Family Planning Training
Grant. JSI provides cost-effective training for
health care providers and staff of Title X-funded
family planning programs, as well as other public
and private health care providers. JSI is also the
Regional Training Center for Region I, New England
States.
What is technical support and how do
I get it?
Technical support is provided by request to Title
X-funded clinics within Region VIII. It is concerned

page.
Who decides what topics are included
in trainings?
Each year, a needs assessment is conducted with the
delegate agencies in each state in Region VIII. JSI
compiles the results of each state's needs assessment.
The topics that arise from these assessments are
included in states' training plans, as well as in
planning of the JSI Annual Reproductive Health
Update Conference.
How do I learn about trainers that
JSI uses?
JSI maintains a comprehensive database of trainers,
including their contact information, as well as their
areas of expertise.
Do the JSI Annual Reproductive Health
Update Conference and other training events offer
continuing education credits?
At the conclusion of each training event, continuing
education request forms are provided to participants,
and the appropriate amount of continuing education
hours are determined and awarded. The completed certificates
are then mailed to eligible participants within four
to six weeks of the event.
What different kinds of continuing
education credits are offered?
JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc., is approved as
a provider of continuing education in nursing by
the Colorado Nurses' Association, which is accredited
as an approver of continuing education in nursing
by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission
on Accreditation. Pharmacology credits are also defined
and awarded when appropriate. Refer to the event
announcement for information regarding the continuing
education credits being offered for that particular
event.
